BUSHkids Annual Report 2018-2019

November 5, 2019

It’s a true privilege to be involved with BUSHKids. I have been on the Friends of BUSHkids committee in Bundaberg since inception. The dedicated work by BushKids staff on the ground is making a tremendous difference in my community and the awareness of BUSHkids is clearly on the rise as is the support for what the organisation does. Charity golf days and partnerships with local events such as AgroTrend are shining the light on BUSHkids in Bundaberg. In early 2019 – in conjunction with the AgroTrend event - BUSHkids signed up professional musicians such as the band Simply Bushed to help spread the word about the scheme. The hands-on involvement from the board and CEO is also helping shape the impressive culture within BUSHkids. The mission to promote health and well-being of children and families is certainly being met throughout rural and regional Queensland thanks to all staff and volunteers. From a media perspective it is wonderful for the ABC to have special connection with BUSHkids and be in a position to help tell the story as the organisation continues to grow, prosper and positively change lives. I will remain a strong advocate for more government support around vital services such as tele-health.

I do hope to continue my association with BUSHkids for many years to come. Congratulations to the board, CEO and all staff on a fabulous year.

Kind regards,
