During the past year BUSHkids ICT team has dedicated substantial efforts to enhancing internal processes and as a result are providing more robust, contextual IT Support documentation. The objectives of the internal documentation was to standardise processes, streamline workflows, improve collaboration, and reduce onboarding time for new ICT team members. This is an ongoing process however is already well underway with several key systems documented fully. Additionally, the suite of IT support ‘Task Cards which are accessible to all workers has been enhanced. These step-by-step guides are now available for a larger number of internally used applications to empower BUSHkids workers to handle routine IT challenges themselves. In another avenue of BUSHkids ICT, the previous year’s developments with BUSHkids’ bespoke clinical database application, BUSHbase, have yielded a much more complete picture of a client’s journey through BUSHkids. Thanks to these improvements we’ve gathered many clinical outcomes which will enable BUSHkids to refine our service delivery and facilitate better data-driven decision making.
BUSHkids continues to operate a service delivery system that complies with the requirements of Human Services Quality Standards for child and family services. Our Certification is now current until 13 February 2026, with the Recertification Assessment completed on 10 and 11 November 2022, at our Warwick and Toowong locations. The certification identifies that BUSHkids continues to meet the intent of the assessed Standards and this result demonstrates BUSHkids’ continuing commitment to achieving the requirements of the Standards and maintaining certification. Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) report BUSHkids achieved its annual Certificate of Compliance with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 for the 2022-23 reporting period. The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requires non-public sector employers with 100 or more staff to submit an annual compliance report to the WGEA. The WGEA vision is for women and men to be equally represented, valued, and rewarded in the workplace. The WGEA uses information from employers to present the latest figures on the gender pay gap, women’s workforce participation and representation in leadership, and emerging trends on employer action. WHS As the world returned to a more familiar state following COVID-19 restrictions, BUSHkids’ priority continues with the aim to keep everyone as safe as possible. With our Centres reopened for face-to-face appointments and community programs running again, travel across the regions increased with 215,888km covered by road. Psychological Safety The focus of staff wellness has previously been on WHS and primarily the physical health of a person, this focus has now shifted to wellbeing; which includes not only a person’s physical health and wellness, but also their mental and social aspects of work. A psychologically safe culture is where everyone has a voice and feels they can use it, knowing it’s safe to openly contribute without ridicule, feel their ideas matter and are heard, and know they will be treated fairly. A safe workplace is where everyone feels included and openly accepted. Quality Compliance A psychologically safe culture is where everyone has a voice and feels they can use it, knowing it’s safe to is where everyone feels included and openly accepted.
