ORGANISATION
Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) report BUSHkids achieved its Certificate of Compliance with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 for the 2020-21 reporting period. The WGEA vision is for women and men to be equally represented, valued, and rewarded in the workplace. The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requires non-public sector employers with 100 or more staff to submit an annual compliance report to the WGEA. WHS BUSHkids’ priority is to keep everyone as safe as possible., during the pandemic achieved by daily COVID-Safe Operational Meetings held throughout peak times, topics including: • COVID-Safe working environment – updates on COVID-19 requirements and restrictions • operational issues arising • issues / concerns raised from teams. These proved very beneficial, enabling swift decisions and dissemination of information to support continued service delivery. The documents such as ‘Managing COVID-19 in the Workplace’ were frequently updated, after decisions reached in these meetings. Whilst BUSHkids Centres escaped with only minor water damage, the devastating floods that hit early in the year affected several BUSHkids staff and families. Rising flood waters and road closures restricted access in some cases. A travel ban was implemented during the height of the flooding, as it was deemed too dangerous for staff to be out on the roads. Taking this into account, travel across all regions was significantly down, with only 146,665km travel by road, compared to 269,937km the previous year. It has been encouraging to see the increase in Risk Assessments completed by staff as work life slowly returns to normal, enabling our staff to get out and about again in their local com munities. It is important that BUSHkids staff and volunteers are completing these Risk Assessments for community activities and events, as it highlights potential risks and how to minimise and mitigate them, ensuring safe and enjoyable activities for all who attend. BUSHbase BUSHkids’ bespoke clinical database
Social media Our social media channels remain the primary method of keeping people informed about our work, keeping followers up to date with events and developments in the organisation, linking to further information about news and events on the BUSHkids webpage .
BUSHbase went through what can arguably be referred to as its most vital data collection upgrade in recent years. BUSHbase is now capable of recording a large variety of clinical outcome measures which will enable BUSHkids to report on holistic client care more effectively and efficiently. Data can be collated to present a complete client picture noting the times and types of service received and the outcomes of this time spent. As well, other quality-of-life improvements were released to assist user experience and further refine data collection. Including new disciplines, consent capture and display techniques, intake appointment process overhaul and user interface changes all occurred during this period. None of this would be possible without the continued dedication of BUSHkids’ long-term database development partner, Bootstrap IT, that expertise, passion and attitude continuing to help build BUSHbase into a terrific clinical database. There is however, almost always more to do to better this application and we’re grateful for Bootstrap IT’s ongoing support. 2022-23 looks to be another full year for the BUSHkids ICT team. We are very excited by the formal opening of our new teleBUSHkids Centre, to further develop our LMS and continue to build on our solid ICT foundation. This new financial year also brings a new IT Support Officer to the team and this new passion for Cyber Security and Social Science is already delivering benefits both within the team and the greater BUSHkids environment. Quality Assurance Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) Standards Our current HSQF Standards Certificate expires on 13 February 2023, with the Recertification Assessment scheduled for completion on 10 and 11 November 2022. The HSQF Standards Maintenance Assessment completed in July 2021 identified that BUSHkids continues to meet the intent of the assessed Standards and this result demonstrates BUSHkids’ commitment to achieving the requirements of the Standards and maintaining certification.

Financial Year 21 | 22
ICT BUSHkids’ ICT landscape continued to be refined throughout this year with several large projects keeping both the small inhouse ICT team and external support providers well and truly occupied. The extensive assistance provided by Council Member Julian Martin and contractors Freshmethod , Bootstrap IT and Smart Multimedia was once again invaluable and contributed greatly to the year’s ICT successes. General ICT A major project was the development and release of BUSHkids’ Learning Management System (LMS). In conjunction with Trevor- Roberts Associates, BUSHkids has been able to deploy online virtual learning internally, which currently covers topics on clinician telepractice training and growing leadership capabilities. The three tiers of leadership courses were developed by Trevor-Roberts and were deployed in August. Another key project, undertaken towards the end of May 2022, was the exchange of NDIA-provided Microsoft Surface Pro devices with BUSHkids-bought and managed laptops. This enabled us to return NDIA devices which were past useful life and replace them with devices facilitating smoother connection not only to the NDIA system but also superior access to BUSHkids’ own ICT infrastructure. BUSHkids workers are now able to fully utilise our desktop VOIP applications, network drives and emails, enhancing efficiencies and cross-collaboration between environments.
