Growing our community

These core qualities align closely with the values of Gumdale’s own wellbeing program, ‘GROW Well,’ which focuses on the development of well-rounded students who are equipped to engage with the world beyond the classroom. In 2021, Gumdale State School further strengthened its sailing program with the acquisition of three joystick-operated Hansa sailing boats, designed with sturdy, capsizing-resistant hulls.

Beyond the direct benefits to students, the partnership has had a positive ripple effect on the broader community.

The collaboration fosters a sense of pride among local residents, many of whom view the school and Squadron as cornerstones of the Gumdale area.

These boats are available as an inclusive way for our students with disability to participate in the program, thanks to the generous support of current and past sponsors: Gumdale State School P&C Outside School Hours Care, Todd Gerhardt Realty, Signature Pontoons, Suburban Glass & Leadlights , and NLH Construction .
