North Stradbroke Island has three main centres, all located in the northern area of the island. Dunwich is on the west coast, Point Lookout, as the name might suggest, is right up on the northeast coast and Amity Point faces the southern end of Moreton Island across the sandbar- filled South Passage that separates the two islands.
