NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND
Point Lookout Point Lookout is on the most northeastern part of North Stradbroke Island and is the social centre for the island. There are several large resorts in the local area, each with their own dining outlets but there are other lunch options in the local café precinct too.
North Gorge walk Directly opposite Fishes at the Point is the entry to the North Gorge Walk . The 1km trail guides walkers around the top of the rocky headlands providing stunning views both of the ocean and the crashing waves in the deep gorge below. During the winter months, whales may be seen from Point Lookout during their migration as they pass close by the land. Point Lookout Light , established in 1932, is set slightly above the township and accessed via Lucinda Crescent.
Marsupial-free view south along Straddie’s Main Beach.
Fishes at the Point (aka Fishes Café) has fresh local produce including a wide variety of seafood, plus steaks and vegetarian options, all delivered with a friendly ambience. French Ease Café & Bar and Whales Way Restaurant are also recommended. The Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel is a popular destination
