Arriving at the Gold Coast

Entering the North Channel Between the North Channel of the Broadwater and into the Coomera River North Branch there are several facilities that provide superyacht berths and services to accommodate vessels over 24m, including marinas and refit-and-repair yards with marinas of their own. Runaway Bay Marina is accessed via the North Channel and is located on the western shore of the Broadwater, inshore of Crab Island just south of Paradise Point. The marina offers three berths up to 35m in length as T-ends with a maximum draft of 3m. Power to the berths (two 32amp) and haul-out facilities are available for vessels up to 18m. Diesel, premium unleaded and unleaded fuels are available daily 0800-1700. Located at Hope Island on the Coomera River North Branch it has three berths for superyachts with a 50m maximum length also as T-ends and with a 3m maximum draft and two 32amp power supply. Fuel is available and cafés, bars and restaurants are close by. hopeharbourmarina.com.au Sanctuary Cove Marina , located on the Coomera River a short distance downstream from the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, has extended its footprint to accommodate larger superyachts. With 25 berths suitable for superyachts up to a length of 65m, the maximum draft is 3.5m. The berths are a combination of a new floating concrete pontoon system and floating timber-decked pontoons. The marina offers permanent berthing plus day, overnight and casual availability. The marina has 24/7 self-serve fuel with easy card swipe at the pumps. Nearby services in Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village include a chandlery, supermarket, medical services, cafés, restaurants, retail stores, ATM and access to hotel facilities and golf course. sanctuarycove.com/marina The Gold Coast Marine Precinct (GCMP) on the Coomera River is a well-developed designated area specialising in the service and manufacture of recreational marine craft. Covering close to 250 hectares, the precinct was developed over 20 years ago, initially to service the large local recreational boating community. Today the precinct has some of the top superyacht servicing and marina facilities in the Asia-Pacific region. With more than 6,000 skilled marine tradespeople employed in a range of specialist marine businesses and a top lift-out capacity of 300 tonnes, it also houses multiple large enclosed sheds for superyachts out of the water. Additional services in the area includes crew training facilities.

GoldCoastCityMarina&Shipyard (GCCM) is located in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct on the Coomera River. GCCM has 25 superyacht floating berths accommodating superyachts up to 75m with a maximum draft of 4m. Electricity supply is 400amp and both premium unleaded and diesel fuel is available. High-flow fuelling is also available from the fuel wharf with bunkering as well for large refuel quantities. The GCCM yard has over 50,000m 2 of hardstand and refit sheds and more than 90 onsite marine business tenants. Haul-out onsite is via a 250t and 50t Travelift. The Boat Works is also located in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct on the Coomera River. It has 20 specific superyacht berths for vessels over 24m with a maximum length of 65m and maximum draft of 4.5m. The berths are floating pontoons with concreate pilings and the electricity supply range is 15–250amp. Designated fuel bunkering is also available. The Boat Works has three marine lifts onsite of 70t, 100t and 300t, a hydraulic Sealift and two slipways, undercover repair sheds up to 20m high with workbenches and shade, and storage facilities for vessels up to 60m. Onsite service capabilities include vessel refit, repair, restorations, maintenance and dry storage. Also included in the service package is a chandlery, recreational areas with access to gyms and pools, cafés, restaurants and bar options, complimentary WiFi and courtesy cars.
