Naming of new Fire Appliances
Distinguished service by members of QFES may be recognised by having new fire appliances named after them. Eligibility The naming of a fire appliance may be awarded to any member of QFES’ workforce, paid or volunteer. While each nomination application will be considered on a case-by-case basis, the following offers some examples of situations where this honour may be appropriate: • as a mark of respect to those who have died in the line of duty • recognition of extreme courage or brave conduct demonstration of a superior degree of resource and devotion to duty in a particular situation, or in the exemplary discharge of special duties above and beyond normal duties. • recognition of distinguished service, for example through
QFES Honours and Awards
Nominations are to be made on an Executive Briefing Note (EBN) to the QFES Honours and Awards Committee with appropriate supporting documentation and nomination forms. The Committee will review the nomination and progress to the Commissioner, QFES for final consideration and approval.
