Queensland’s top merchandise export destinations, 2006–07 and 2010–11

In 2010–11, Queensland accounted for just under a quarter (23.3%) of Australia’s total merchandise exports to Germany. That share was valued at $492.5 million, up 25.2% from the previous year, with Germany ranked 19th in Queensland’s mer chandise export destinations .

Queensland’s German exports have recovered to 2007-06 levels but are still just over half the peak values achieved prior to the GFC. Since 2006-07, Queensland has generally provided between one-quarter and one-third – up to 36.6% in 2008-09 – of Australia’s total exports to Germany.
