Wreck diving ex-HMAS Tobruk The former HMAS Tobruk is one of the world’s newest wreck dives, scuttled halfway between Bundaberg and Hervey Bay in the Great Sandy Marine Park in mid-2018. As a former heavylift landing ship, it is much more open than a standard military wreck.

Southern Great Barrier Reef

The wreck is already popular, with marine life having taken up permanent residence, including turtles and rays. It rests in 30m of water, but the shallowest part of the wreck lies in only 10.9m of water, making it easily accessible by Open Water-certified divers. Approved dive operators based in Bundaberg with dive permits for the wreck are Aqua Scuba and Tobruk Experience .
