Australia Zoo Made famous by Australian Steve Irwin, Australia Zoo is a must-do activity for all ages. Enjoy the walking trails around the base of some mountains on short 800m walks or venture up to the nearby Conondale Ranges to enjoy 6km–plus walks in the native rain forests to local waterfalls such as Kondalillia Falls or Mapleton Falls.

The Glass House Mountains Only 45 minutes south and inland from Mooloolaba is the National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains , a group of inactive rugged volcanic peaks or ‘plugs’ created from ancient activity that now stand out against the landscape of the southern Sunshine Coast.

Now protected in a national park , they were named by Lt James Cook in 1770 as he sailed north up the east coast, the shapes reminding him of the glass foundries in Yorkshire, England.

Visitors can experience amazing views of the hinterland and the coast from several of the mountaintops or make use of the built lookouts in the national parks. Local adventure companies can tailor a full day of activities including kayaking, walking, climbing and organising transportation, pick-up and drop-off.

Golf With year-round warm weather and sunshine, golf is popular on the Sunshine Coast. Pelican Waters Golf Club is a Greg Norman-designed course and was ranked 25 in the top 100 public access courses in Australia. Open to visitors, bookings can be made online. Club hire may require a call to the Pro Shop.
