Southern Queensland SUPERYACHT GUIDE
LOCATION / TOPIC
Looking north across Noosa National Park from above Sunshine Beach towards the sweeping expanse of Alexandria Bay.
Eco-tours Arrange a guided tour upriver to explore the Noosa Everglades , one of only two everglades in the world. Booking ahead is recommended for the Everglades due to permits, vessel and visitor number limits.
National Park walks The Noosa National Park Headland Section offers accessible and well- marked walking trails around the rocky headlands and sweeping ocean views.
Make a half-day outing (or full day picnic) through rocky scrub and across sandy creek beds to Little Cove, Tea Tree Bay, Granite Bay and Alexandria Bay ( see map ). These picturesque east-facing beaches however are not recommended for swimming as the often-powerful surf and unpredictable inshore currents can create challenging conditions. Another DIY walk just north of Mooloolaba and close to the coast, the Mount Coolum climb offers great views for those of reasonable fitness taking about 1.5 hours for the round trip of 1.6 kilometres. tinyurl.com/y4jw47sz parks.des.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_ file/0027/158049/noosa-headland-map.pdf visitsunshinecoast.com/climb-mount-coolum

Sunshine Coast
Paddlers in the tranquil Noosa Everglades
Coming ashore at Noosa Noosa Heads can offer protection from the predominant southeasterly breeze: the bottom is soft sand suitable for anchoring. Vessels over 50m require pilotage to enter Laguna Bay and should consider an anchorage further out in the lee of the headland. Tenders are advised to take caution entering the bar if there is a large swell running. Woods Bay Public Jetty is located at the top of Woods Bay inside the river and can be used for drop-off and pick-up.
The jetty is only a 100m walk across the park to the beginning of Hastings Street shops and cafés and onto the boardwalk and the beach. For more details, contact the Noosa Coastguard and consult the relevant Beacon to Beacon map . coastguard.com.au/flotilla/qf5-noosa
