Queensland is known for its relatively large and variable tidal ranges, however the range decreases when heading further south. The Gold Coast Seaway range is 1.91m HAT. The Palazzo Versace Marina is a private 90 berth marina able to accommodate vessels up to 32m. It has single phase to three phase electricity. Boats can tie up while boat owners enjoy access to the hotel’s restaurants and bars and other facilities. It has 24 berths on floating pontoons for superyachts and can take vessels up to 85m. There is power to the berths and casual short-term visitors can be accommodated for boats up to 10 metres for a four-hour time period. Southport Yacht Club Marina at the southern point of the Broadwater has 300 berths of which more than 13 are designated for superyachts. southportyachtclub.com.au/waterfront/marina It is home to Australia’s largest floating superyacht dock at a record 163m and can accommodate vessels up to 135m. The new dock has 600amp power and access to the fuel wharf with bunkering available via a service road alongside. The drive-on pontoon allows for easy provisioning and the access control area, CCTV and tie-up berths for tenders completes the service package. Pump-out facility is available and the haul-out facility at the club is for a maximum of 35 tonnes and 15m in length. Visiting yachts also have access to the clubhouse restaurant and bar with the Southport Yacht Club being home to the only open-air waterfront north-facing restaurant and bar in the area.
