In attending most of the branch AGMs, it was a pleasure to listen to the members showcasing their achievements during the year. It was also pleasing to hear of increases in membership. It has been a very busy 12 months for the Division and welcoming two new Branches: Sandgate in December 2018 and Burpengary in June 2019. We now have 17 Branches, one Sub-Branch and two Groups. August saw the EKKA Committee gearing up for our presence at the EKKA Eats and Treats Café which is a very successful fundraising event for Greater Brisbane Division. We continue to hold workshops, including: a two- day Cookery Judges Workshop ; Office-bearer; WORD ; Treasurer and International Workshops . We have introduced hourly sessions before our Executive Division Meetings with talks on copyright, pooling and grant applications. During this reporting year, Branches have successfully obtained grants for improvements to QCWA properties. It is pleasing to see our convenors holding regular meeting, getting together to discuss ideas; a successful Division Finals day was held on 22 June 2019.

Most of the 13 Branches in our Division still remain in the grip of the ongoing drought so I thank members for your continued support of the Association. Macalister, Wychie, Chinchilla, Miles, Condamine/ Arubial, Glenmorgan and Jackson maintain QCWA halls or meeting rooms. Meetings for the year were hosted by Miles, Wychie, Cooranga North, Burra Burri, Jackson and Macalister. Our house ‘Clear View’ on the Bunyas is a wonderful place to stay and relax, or enjoy the bush walks, and has been well-used. We have offered the house for a holiday to the Western Division for someone who is suffering from the drought. The aged units at Dalby are fully occupied. The Division sold the buildings at Tara and Warra; the branch continues to meet in the local hall. Members attended the CWA of A conference in Canberra, State Conference (where all branches were represented in person or by proxy), International Weekend , Southern Region Conference and the ACWW Conference in Melbourne.
