Since June 2018, and after all the Branch AGMs were finished, everything went back into ‘QCWA mode.’ Members attended 2018 Conference in Brisbane and did very well in all the competitions. We also introduced our new Tamborine Mountain Branch into the fold last year. Then a short break over Christmas and we came back with great enthusiasm—competitions were held, Spring Fairs , street stalls, Bunnings BBQs, community activities and participating in Country Kitchens —plus all commitments to QCWA were attended by our members. Southern Region Meeting in Ipswich was attended by many members of South Eastern Division who found it very informative and had a wonderful time. We also had representatives attend May Council in Cairns which was great, and many thanks go to South Eastern Division for helping those who attended to get there.

We also had a new Branch open—Beechmountain QCWA —and what a lovely opening it was! Congratulations to our two new branches and I hope you will enjoy QCWA. All branches have now held their AGMs and it was great to see new faces take up their positions. We are very proud of what has been achieved over the last 12 months and all should be congratulated on their achievements.

It is with mixed emotions that I give this report. First, I am happy that Augathella Branch continues with a number of new members and a full Executive, but it is sad that Morven Branch has closed again as they have been unable to get enough members for a committee. Second, it is great to see there has been some rain around the areas, but it has not been all-over and has not been enough to break the drought completely. Charleville has been busy with many and varied fundraising activities—supporting new mothers, DV Connect and the local chaplain. Once again, members were at their Show with Country Kitchens involvement, displaying what we do. Eromanga continues to support the RFDS Clinic building as its major project. Not a lot of varied fundraising but monthly BBQs keep things busy!

Quilpie has tried some new ideas for fundraising. The pop-up markets worked well. Drought relief was a big item for the Quilpie community and saw the QCWA passing on funds raised from other areas. Country Kitchens has been a new venture that some members are following and getting the healthy word out there. Tambo continues to support the community in as many ways as possible, present at the Stock Show , ANZAC Day as well as the Seniors’ Christmas Lunch . They have some new members as well who continue to bring fresh ideas to their meetings. I would like to thank the three Shires involved in our Division—Murweh, Quilpie and Blackall/Tambo— for continued support throughout the year.
